Between Custer, SD and Devils Tower, WY, there is so much going on in the Black Hills, and Sylvan Rocks Climbing School and Guide Service was looking for a place to put it all. We decided to put it here, and look forward to sharing the places we visit, the characters we meet, and whatever else comes to mind. We want to capture the magic of the Black Hills. It’s a region as mythical as Patagonia….just as beautiful and a whole lot easier to get to. We hope you enjoy our blog. We hope the content of this blog shares our passion for the Black Hills, rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, hunting, hiking, geology, myth, lore and everything else that we love about the outdoors and this special area of the world.
We are Sylvan Rocks Climbing School, and since 1989 Sylvan Rocks has been sharing the vertical world with people of all ages and abilities. Rock climbing puts some adventure in everyones life. Come view the Black Hills from the summit.
The Black Hills (including Devils Tower) are very special to us, and we are lucky to have called this place home for so many years. We love the rocks and trails, and know them well, but still enjoy discovering something new nearly every time we head out the door. Mother nature always has something great to share.
